35th Karate-do South African Goju Kai National Championships

The National Championships was held at the Bellville Velodrome on 11 and 12 October 2008.

Over six hundred students from throughout the country competed over two days for top honours and a chance to be selected for the South African Team to compete at the 2009 World Championships in Cape Town.

With the World Championships only 11 months away, the standard of the contestants form was at the highest level as the National Selectors looked on to finalise the South African Team for 2009. Well done to all our members in the National team that has been selected to participate at the most prestigious World Championships to date. Not only will the South African Team be competing on home soil but will be participating in the celebration of the centenary of our Great Grand Master Gogen Yamaguchi.

Congratulations to all that competed in the true budo spirit of Goju Kai at this event, thereby contributing to the immense success of the Championships.
