Grandmaster Goshi Yamaguchi's visit to South Africa - March 2009
S.A. Goju Kai was honoured to be given the opportunity to host our International President, Saiko Shihan Goshi Yamaguchi.
Students from all over our country took time to join one another in celebrating the Art of Goju Kai.
Intensive training began on Sat 14 March and ended with Dan Gradings on Sunday 15 at the Hombu Dojo in Mowbray.
Saiko Shihan said that he enjoyed teaching all the students of South Africa, and was delighted at the progress made by all, especially the Gauteng region. The Gauteng region has tripled in membership and was runner up in the medal count at the South African Tournament in 2008.
We should really appreciate what we have in Goju Kai. We, as students, are part of a great legacy, which is sure to continue and grow for our childrens’ children to witness. I appreciate the opportunity granted to me to organise and oversee this memorable event.
